Mavis Billadeau, 83, of the Oakland/Glenville area

Mavis R. Billadeau, age 83, formerly of the Oakland/Glenville area, died Sunday, April 23, 2006, at St. Lucas Care Center in Faribault.

She was born Nov. 21, 1922, in London, Minn., to Fred and Mertena (Madsen) Allen.

Mavis attended school in London, Minn. and graduated from Austin High School in 1941. She worked at the Geo. A. Hormel Co. from 1941 to 1945 and was married to Leonard L. Billadeau on Feb. 14, 1945, at the English Lutheran Church in London, Minn. They lived on a farm south of Oakland. She was a member of the Trondhjem Lutheran Church and was active with the church women. Mavis was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 27, at 1:30 p.m. at Hayward Lutheran Church, Hayward, with the Rev. John R. Malm officiating. Interment will be in the Woodbury Cemetery, Lyle. Visitation will be held at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and at the church for one hour before the service on Thursday.

Organist will be Sharon Malm. Soloist will be Kiven Lukes.

Casket bearers will be Scott Billadeau, Brian Billadeau, Jason Schnebly, Kevin Wunderlich, Jeremy Vogland, Allen Dunn.

She is survived by a: son, Dennis Billadeau of Austin; daughters, Ramona Vogland of Inver Grove Heights and Mary Ellen Schnebly of Faribault; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother and sisters-in-law, Harold (Dick) and Ruth Allen of Austin, Gladys Allen of St. Ansgar, Iowa; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother Lewis.
