Michael &8220;Buzzy&8221; Waage was called to the side of our Lord on April 14, 2006.

He was born on March 20, 1939, in Albert Lea. Mike graduated from Ellendale High School in 1957. He married Jean Larson in 1958 and later divorced.

Michael is survived by his parents Loren and Betty Waage of Ellendale, Minn., wife Carol VanDermeid Waage, his son Brent (Angela), his daughter Jill (Don) Chantengco, all of Tucson, Ariz., his brothers Curt (Judy), Dale (Jani), and sisters Cynthia (Chuck) Crabtree, Gretta Lageson, Linda (Danny) Wagner, Mary (Vern) Busho, all of Minnesota, along with nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Michael moved his family to Tucson, Ariz., in 1973, where he worked hard and opened his own cabinet making business, a trade that he passed along to his son.

Michael had a great love of the outdoors, books and adventure. He was either reading about it or experiencing for himself the wonders of untamed Alaska or the Arizona mountains and wilderness. Michael’s devotion to God and family has been an inspiration and guiding light to those of us who love and respect him for being the kind and wonderful man that he was. Michael was very active at Sabino Road Baptist Church.

A friend to everyone, Michael was always willing to lend a hand. Michael will be deeply missed.

Mike was preceded in death by one brother-in-law Eugene Lageson.

Memorial services were held at Sabino Road Baptist Church, Tucson, Ariz.

A memorial service will be held for Mike at the First Lutheran Church in Ellendale, Saturday, April 29, at 1:30 p.m.
