NEW RICHLAND &045;&160;Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton scored two runs off Panther pitcher Dakota Tracy in the first inning, but the sophomore buckled down after that to help NRHEG secure the win.

Tracy went all seven innings, gave up three runs, one walk and struck out 11.

&8220;Dakota Tracy’s pitching performance was solid,&8221; said NRHEG head coach Jeff Reese.

&8220;After a rough start he settled in and threw well.&8221;

Tracy struck out the side in the second and recorded two outs in an inning with strike outs in three other innings.

With Tracy locking down the JWP offense, Josh Churchill did his part at the plate going 3-for-4 in the game with a double, two runs scored and three RBIs.

Churchill helped tie the game up at 2-2 in the bottom of the first when he roped a two-out single to drive in a pair.

Chris Somage also had three hits in the game including one in the Panthers’ four-run sixth inning to put the game away.

Taylor Holland had two hits and drove in two, Tracy added a triple and Ben Waldhauser was 2-for-3 on the night.

&8220;We ran the bases, in general, well,&8221; said Reese.

&8220;We are still missing signs and making some mental mistakes which might hurt us in close games.&8221;

The Panthers are now 5-2 on the season and 3-1 in the Gopher Conference.
