Phyllis Griffin, age 81, died suddenly from complications of pancreatic cancer on April 15, 2006.

She was born May 4, 1924, in Albert Lea, to Fred and Sophie Fink.

She i survived by sisters Marcia Modean of Bend, Ore., and Gloria Procuniar of Crystal Lake, Ill.

She was the mother of Karen Leland (Bernnie) and Laurie Krominga (Johannes Gaston) and grandmother of Matthew, Meredith and Andreas.

She worked for Midwest Wine of St. Paul and Whirlpool. She enjoyed baby-sitting in her retirement years. She was a member of the Sons of Norway and the VFW. Phyllis was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, St. Paul, Westwood Lutheran and most recently United Methodist Church of Peace, Edina. A resident of Heritage of Edina.

A celebration of her life will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, at Tiffany Chapel, 3456 Heritage Drive, Edina. A later memorial service will occur in July in Albert Lea.
