RANDOLPH &045; The United South Central baseball team tried to make a late rally against Randolph but came up short, 9-7.
The Rebels scored three runs in the sixth inning getting RBIs from Jake Bonsack and Luke Beyer.
However, Randolph would answer with three runs of its own in the bottom of the sixth frame.
Tyler Linde started the seventh by reaching base on an error for the Rebels, but they would not be able to advance him past third.
Derek Schmidt, Bonsack and Beyer all had a pair of hits in the game as the top of the lineup did most of the damage for the team scoring four of the team’s runs.
Schmidt took the loss for USC pitching the final two innings giving up three hits and four runs.
