Sex offender ordinance: What do you have to say?

&8220;I think it’s all right. But if they’ve gone through treatment they should be given another chance.&8221;

&045; April Rygh

&8220;I think that’s up to the community, but there should be a distance. If we don’t take care of the children, who will?&8221;

&8220;I don’t think they should be living by schools. It’s too tempting.&8221;

&045; Joyce Metcalfe

&8220;It’s a good idea. You don’t push candy in front of a baby.&8221;

&045; Shirley Torsch

&8220;It’s a good idea. You should know who’s living around you.&8221;

&045; Bill Raatz

&8220;It’s a good idea. There should be some accountability for what they’ve done.&8221;

&045; Barry Coughlin

&8220;Putting them next to a school is like putting a fox in charge of the chicken coop.&8221;

&045; Ted Gill

&8220;I think it’s a good idea to give parents with young children some piece of mind.&8221;

&045; Mark Olson

&8220;All they would have to do is get in their car and drive. It would be better to put monitoring devices on them and let them live where they want.&8221;

&045; Philip Kortz

&8220;It’s probably a good idea, but I don’t know. It’s a really hard issue.&8221;

&045; Dennis Honsey

&8220;I don’t think it’s right to make them move if they own a home.&8221;

&045; Nicole King

&8220;That’s a good idea. It’s good to be cautious.&8221;

&045; John Souryavong

&8220;I’m completely against letting them live there. A sex offender is a sex offender. What makes you think they won’t do it again, when you have little ones you worry.&8221;

&045; Rachel Nelson

&8220;I think it’s a good idea. It’s really a temptation for them if they’re still doing those things.&8221;

&045; Marilyn Loshman

&8220;I used to do day care for almost eight years and I have a little child. I wouldn’t want it.&8221;

&045; Jen Dahlen

&8220;I think it’s a good idea. Someone’s got to watch out for them and keep them separated from the crowd.&8221;

&045; Norman Schmidt

&8220;They shouldn’t even let them in the state.&8221;

&045; Jim Bronson

&8220;I think that’s an excellent idea. We need to get rid of sex offenders one way or another. But if they live a few blocks away, they can still get there.&8221;

&045; Bev Indrelie

&8220;I agree with it. Being a citizen, you want to be aware.&8221;

&045; Jeremy Jensen

&8220;If it’s someone who goes after kids, they shouldn’t be there.&8221;

&045; Katie Radke

&8220;I think it’s a good idea. I think it’s less of a temptation for them. They already have a lot of places around here to live so it doesn’t take away too many rights of theirs.&8221;

&045; Matt Stay

&8220;I think people should be told who sex offenders are for the safety of the children.&8221;

&045; Frances Swenson

&8220;You want to keep them away from kids. If they’ve already posed a problem, why give them an opportunity to fail again. It’s the same if you’re quitting smoking, you don’t go where everyone’s smoking.&8221;

&045; Aaron Bjorklund

&8220;I think they should all have to register.&8221;

&045; Dominic Hayes

&8220;That’s actually a really good idea.&8221;

&045; Ashley Cole

&8220;I think a registered sex offender should be held in the cross-hairs of a shotgun.&8221;

&045; Robert Hoffman

&8220;It’s a good idea to protect our children.&8221;

&045; Elaine Knopf

&8220;I don’t think where they live is going to change their behavior.&8221;

&045; Dave Nolander

&8220;The ones from Iowa live in my vicinity, so I want it.&8221;

&045; Heidi Yost

&8220;I think when they’re in that location, it would be tougher for them not to re-offend.&8221;

&045; Rhonda Cibert

&8220;I think it’s a good idea for the protection of kids. It’s kind of proven that once they do this, a lot of times they repeat. And we don’t keep a good enough profile to know who’s good and who’s

bad.&8221;

&045; Jim Gold

&8220;I think it’s a good idea. I’d be pretty scared to live around a sex offender.&8221;

&045; Marissa Boone

&8220;That’s a tough one. I guess it’s a good idea to protect our children.&8221;

&045; Rachel Iverson

&8220;I don’t think they should be where there’ll be a lot of kids. They’ve been in trouble and the same habits might come back.&8221;

&045; Robert Suniga

&8220;It’s definitely a good idea. I don’t want them anywhere near my son, that’s for sure.&8221;

&045; Jason Apland

&8220;It’s a good idea. We need to keep children safe.&8221;

&045; Nathan Christenson

&8220;I understand what they’ve done is reprehensible, but they still do have some rights.&8221;

&045; Marianne Sahli

&8220;I hear police saying it wouldn’t help, that they’ll just drive. But I think if they’re living close to a school or playground, in eyesight of kids playing, it’s a temptation to them.&8221;

&045; Bob Steffl

&8220;I have a child and a sex offender is living down the street. They need to be put away.&8221;

&045; Jennie Wondra

&8220;I think it’s a great idea, mainly because I have a 3-year-old daughter. Opinions vary depending on whether you have kids or not. My opinion would probably be different if I didn’t have a kid. But I do.&8221;
