USC pounds WEM, 15-2 in five

WATERVILLE &045;&160;The United South Central offense struck early and often pounding Waterville-Elysian-Morristown, 15-2 in five innings.

Derek Schmidt and Zach Badura began the game with a single and double, respectively. Both players came around to score and Chris Yost made it 3-0 when he singled and scored on an error.

The Rebels tacked on six more runs in the second inning getting RBIs from Badura, Jake Bonsack and Tyler Herman.

After adding another run in the fourth, Beyer, Yost and Herman drove in three of the team’s five runs in the fifth.

The USC offense racked up 11 hits and batted around twice in the game.

Badura, Beyer, Yost and Herman all had a pair of hits in the game.

Andrew Penning picked up the win for the Rebels pitching all five innings striking out five and walking one.
