Wolverines win slugfest, 20-11

LEROY &045; It wasn’t a great start for the Glenville-Emmons softball team, but in the end it picked up another win.
The Wolverines gave up 11 runs in the first three innings to LeRoy-Ostrander and still managed to come out on top 20-11.
Jordan Claussen started the game for G-E but struggled with her control walking six in the first three innings while her defense committed four errors behind her.
Lindsey Lorenzen pitched the final four innings giving up just three hits, striking out eight and walking three.
Despite giving up the early runs the Wolverines hung in the game putting up four second-inning runs, one more in the third and five in the fourth to trail by just one at 11-10.
Claussen had a pair of hits at the plate including a double, stole five bases in the game, scored two times and drove in four.
Chelsey Ziebell scored three times and added a hit, and Lorenzen stole a pair of bases and scored twice.
The Wolverines, who improved to 4-2 overall and 1-1 in the Southeast Conference, are at Spring Grove tonight.
