Alan Christensen, 52

The memorial service for Alan James Christensen will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 3, at Community Lutheran Church, Geneva. The Rev. Joel Xavier will officiate. Burial will be in Geneva Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Ellendale and one hour before the service at the church.

Alan died unexpectedly at his home on Friday, May 26, 2006. He was 52 years old.

Alan was born in Naeve Hospital in Albert Lea on May 5, 1954, the son of LeRoy and Agnes (Martin) Christensen. He was baptized and confirmed at Community Lutheran Church. He had been a member of the Bath-Geneva 4-H Club for 10 years and was a 1972 graduate of Ellendale-Geneva High School.

Alan worked for Stensrud Steel and Grain, Clarks Grove Creamery, Ravenhorst Tile Factory, Misgen Trucking Co., D & J Siding, Slurry Kote Road Construction in Rogers, Minn. and for the past 16 years he had driven a semi for Freerksen Trucking in Dodge Center, Minn.

Alan was a very thoughtful, generous person and would put everyone&8217;s needs ahead of his, especially his family. His &8220;children&8221; were his nieces and nephews and he never grew tired of being with them.

He enjoyed his annual trips to Montana to visit family, going to

garage sales, pawn shops and auctions, gardening, cooking, and watching the Vikings play football. He will be

remembered for the &8220;impish&8221; behavior he had throughout his life.

Alan is survived by his mother, Agnes of

Ellendale, Minn.; six brothers and sisters: Sharon (Douglas) Ezell of Billings, Mont., Steven (Judy) Christensen of Ellendale, Minn., Robert (Linda) Christensen of Hartland, Minn., Marilyne (Greg) Donahue of Albert Lea, Marianne Christensen of Ellendale, Minn., David Christensen of Ellendale, Minn.; seven nieces and nephews: Daniel Christensen of Hopkins, Minn., Nicole Christensen of Minneapolis, Minn., Molly and Andrew Ezell of Billings, Mont., Ben Christensen of Ellendale, Minn., Caitlyn Nelson of Ellendale, Minn., Emily Christensen of Hartland, Minn.; two uncles: Marvin (Tracy) Christensen of Freeborn, Minn., James (Diane) Martin of Albert Lea; one aunt, Dorothy Lund of Clarks Grove, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his father, LeRoy in 2003; infant sister, Gloria.
