Allan Anderson, 68, of Albert Lea

Funeral services for Allan Wayne Anderson of Albert Lea, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2006, at the Salem Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Jay Dahlvang will officiate. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 4 until 8 at Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery.

Mr. Anderson died Friday evening at his home in Albert Lea. He was 68 years of age.

Allan was born Feb. 19, 1938, in Walnut Grove, Minn., the son of Virgil and Nina (Addison) Anderson. He attended public school in Walnut Grove. On Nov. 15, 1958, he was united in marriage to Alyce Prew at the Johnsonville Lutheran Church in Lucan, Minn. He resided in the Geneva Clarks Grove area most of his life, moving to Albert Lea in 1979.

Allan was employed by Gary’s Road Construction as a teenager and then as a truck driver for Red Owl Foods. He retired from Farmland in Albert Lea at the age of 62. He then worked part time for the Union Center in Albert Lea.

In his free time, Allan enjoyed sheep shearing, fishing, coffee at the B and B and his pets Coco and Rusty.

Allan is survived by his wife Alyce of Albert Lea; son, Scott Anderson of Northwood, Iowa and his children Jamie (Steph) Anderson and their son Gavin and Tony Anderson. Daughter, Lori Matthies of Albert Lea, and her children Randi Matthies and her children Morgan and Rylee, Cole Matthies and his children Alexis and Ryanne, Courtney Matthies and Cahler Matthies. Son, Todd Anderson and Linda Mudra of Attig, Wis., and his daughter Sarah Flugum. Also surviving are two brothers, Dale (Helen) Anderson of Walnut Grove, Minn., Jerry (Cheryl) Anderson of San Antonio, Texas. Three sisters, Joanne (Ned) Doan of Idaho, Jeannette (Bob) Heggerston of Walnut Grove, Minn., Judy (Mike) Andersen of Forest City, Iowa. Many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Allan was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Ronald Anderson.
