Funeral services for Donna M. Swenson, age 74, who passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2006, in Rochester, will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Saturday, May 27, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Tom Hanson officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens at a later date. Friends and relatives may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home and then on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials are requested to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

Donna M. Nelson was born April 5, 1932, in Minneapolis. She was raised in Minneapolis and graduated from Edison High School class of &822049;.&8221; She married Richard D. Swenson in Mason City, Iowa on Feb. 4, 1950. She and her husband who was a car salesman moved to La Crescent in 1965. She worked as a nurses aide at Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse. Wis. In 1969 they moved to Blue Earth, where she worked as a nurses aide at St. Lukes Lutheran Home. She and her family came to Rochester in 1979 where she attended Rochester Vocational School and received her L.P.N. training. She worked for the Mayo Clinic as an L.P.N. until retiring in 1992.

She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, and the Huff and Puff Club.

She is survived by two sons: Dale Swenson (Mary) of La Crosse, Wis., and Darryl Swenson (Tammy) of Albert Lea; two daughters: Debra Murphy (Richard) of Blue Earth, and Diane Dick (Ken) of Rochester; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers.
