ROCHESTER &045;&160;An uncharacteristic number of errors by Albert Lea helped Hastings win the section game 6-2 over the Tigers.

Albert Lea jumped out to the early 1-0 first inning lead as Arik Matson led off with a single, Matt Schumann advanced him to second with a sacrifice and Ben Berhow’s base knock plated Matson.

Hastings would tie the game up in the third and get four runs in the fourth to put some distance between itself and the Tigers.

Albert Lea committed five errors in the game including two in the fourth which combined with four base hits to allow the big inning.

The Tigers’ other run came in the sixth when Nick Bunz doubled and scored on a Levi Langseth single.

Bunz took the loss for the Tigers giving up eight hits, walking two and striking out three.

&8220;He pitched pretty well and with a little better defense could have gotten a different outcome,&8221; said Albert Lea head coach Joe Sczublewski.

The Tigers had six hits in the game coming from six different players. Matson, Bunz, Langseth, Berhow and Josh Jordahl all had singles while Nate Goodnature added a triple.

The team is back in action Saturday in Rochester when they will face Red Wing at 11 a.m.
