BLUE EARTH &045;&160;The Alden-Conger golf teams got some very strong individual performances at the Valley Conference Tournament in Blue Earth.

The Knight girls’ squad had just two golfers, but both of them made the most of their trip around the course.

Senior Jackie Ausen and eighth-grader Katie Hallman both earned all-conference honors. Ausen shot 105 and Hallman carded 112 to finish in the top 10.

&8220;It was a relief for Jackie because she was hoping to make all-conference finally as a senior and she shot well,&8221; said A-C head coach Jon Jahnke. &8220;Katie has been playing well but coming in I think all-conference was beyond her expectations. But she shot well and got the job done.

Madelia won the team title.

Nick Reindal and Sam Hallman also earned all-conference honors for the boys. Reindal shot an 86 to finish seventh while Hallman fired an 87 to place ninth.

Chad Peterson would card a 95 to claim honorable mention recognition.

Joey Larson shot 99, Brady Swelha had 101 and Eric Wessling recorded a 104 to round out the Knights.

The Knights finished fifth as a team shooting 367, but were just 10 strokes behind second place

Maple River. Madelia completed the conference sweep with a 350.

&8220;It wasn’t our best outing as a team but we got good scores from several kids,&8221; said Jahnke.

A-C will take part in sub-sections at Mankato Monday and Tuesday.
