Mildred Harding, 91, of Roseville

Mildred C. Harding, age 91, of Roseville, passed away on April 29, 2006. Mildred was a dedicated educator, the proud matriarch of her family, a well-informed citizen, an avid genealogist, and a volunteer for her community. She was born in Presho, S.D., on Aug. 24, 1914, the daughter of Martin and Mable Howe and was married to Clifford Harding in 1940. She taught school for 26 years at Abbott and Hawthorne Elementary Schools of the Albert Lea District.
She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford (1987); sisters Juliet, Selma Grace, Selma Alice Hoelscher; and brothers Noble and Burton Howe. She is survived by her daughter Linda Christenson of Roseville; son William of Tucson, Ariz.; grandchildren Dr. Benjamin (Colleen Wilkinson) Christenson of Shoreview, Minn., Anna Heininger of Roseville, Minn., Matthew (Cassandra) Harding of Gloucester, Va., and Heather (Christopher) DeMonte of Naperville, Ill.; great-grandchildren Ellen, Samuel and Noah Christenson, Meeka, Patience, and Charity Harding, Samuel and Owen DeMonte; and her sister Fern (Kenneth) Monroe of Golden, Colo.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday May 4, at Roseville Lutheran Church, 1215 W. Roselawn Ave., Roseville. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday, prior to services. Interment will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Lakewood Cemetery Albert Lea. Arrangements by the Roseville Memorial Chapel (651) 631-2727.
