Playing at a brisk pace the Albert Lea girls’ golf team finished second at a triangular it hosted at Green Lea Golf Course Thursday.

The Tigers shot a 398 to finish eight strokes behind Mankato East. Winona was third with a 417.

Kelli Hanson led the Tigers with a 94, Kaeli Wayne shot 98, Alli Arnold fired 102 and Mariah Howe rounded out the varsity with a 104.

&8220;We have just had a problem getting four low scores put together,&8221; said Tiger head coach Shawn Riebe. &8220;We could have won our last three matches if we could get the scores down.&8221;

Ali Demmer led the junior varsity, which shot a 218, with a 50. Abby Leach shot 52, Heather Griebrok added a 55 and April Heilmann carded a 61.

Mankato East’s Amanda Olinger was the medalist with a round of 89.

The Tigers travel to Owatonna for a triangular Tuesday before wrapping up the regular season Thursday when they host Rochester Mayo.
