The U-13 Albert Lea boys’ soccer team earned a 3-0 victory against Austin Monday.

Julio Ambriz knocked in the first goal while Luke Cheever scored the second on a header set up on a crossing pass from Fernando Peralta. Cody Wichmann tallied the final goal.

Thomas Furland, Carlton Stripe and Ryan Broitzman also applied offensive pressure.

Albert Lea moved the ball well throughout the contest controlling the tempo of the game with steady midfield play from Callen Pirsig, Davis Thompson and Darian Weigel.

Kepper Cameron Hove kept the shutout intact with strong play throughout the game. The defense kept shots to a minimum with solid defensive play from Anthony Tate, Logan Tufte and Jonathan Koenigs.

Also on the team but unable to play Monday were Steven Kreun and Spencer Overgaard.

The U-13 boys are back in action Monday with a game in Apple Valley.
