USC advances on to sections

MANKATO &045; The United South Central girls’ golf team advanced to next Tuesday’s section golf meet with a convincing sub-section victory in

Mankato.

The Rebels shot a 383 to easily outdistance Blue Earth Area which recorded a 399.

USC’s top four finishers finished third through sixth, respectively.

Leading the way was Tiffany Adams with a round of 92, Cassie Wood was next with a 94, Kelsey Treptow recorded a 98 and Jessica Stensrud finished with a 99.

NRHEG did not advance as a team but still has three individuals advancing to the section competition.

Mariah Tappe and Hannah Demmer paced NRHEG with rounds of 100 while Katie Walstrom also advanced with a 109.

Shelby Whitcomb rounded out the Panthers’ top four with a 120, Paige Sorenson carded 123 and Brittni Wangsness finished with 130.

Alden-Conger also competed but did not advance anyone to the section competition.

Senior Jackie Ausen paced the Knights with 118 and Katie Hallman was right behind her with 119.

Dani Jensen shot 141 and Kari Troska carded a 152 to complete the varsity.
