Bertha Oftedahl, age 89, of Ankeny, passed away May 15, 2006, at Sunnyview Care Center in Ankeny. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Ankeny. Burial will follow at Ankeny Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Bertha was born in Webster City, Iowa, and married Kenny Oftedahl in 1947, and had lived in Ankeny for the last 39 years. During her life, she worked as a beautician. She enjoyed crochet, knitting, flowers, and playing the organ. Bertha was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Ankeny, and was also a member of Martha Circle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and one sister. She is survived by her husband, Kenny of Ankeny, two sisters, Jean Thompson (Glenn) of Mankato, and Lois Herd (Joe) of Chadwick, Mo., and one brother Junior Schweppe of Forsyth, Mo.

A visitation will be held 6:30 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 17, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
