Henry Herman Stevermer, age 103, of Wells, died Sunday, June 4, 2006, at Parkview Care Center in Wells.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 8, at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells.
The Rev. Eugene Stenzel will officiate.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 7, at Bruss – Heitner Funeral Home in Wells from 4 to 7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service. Visitation continues one hour prior to service at the church.
Burial will be at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church Cemetery in Easton.
Henry Herman Stevermer was born on Nov. 21, 1902, in Easton, the son of Clement and Veronica (Hefner) Stevermer.
He attended Wisner Grove School, St. Mary’s School in Easton and the School of Agriculture at the University of Minnesota.
He married Lucilla Rollenhagen on Sept. 11, 1933 in Easton.
Henry was a farmer and after retiring he did carpentry work, built grain bins and made toys for the grandkids.
He was groundskeeper at the Wells Public School.
He was a member of the Farm Bureau, Production Credit Association and a 4-H leader.
He was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening, boxing in college and liked to play pool.
He will be remembered by his children and grandchildren for his quiet and quick-witted sense of humor.
He is survived by his children: Lorna and husband Marlin Feist of Wells, Roland and wife Janice Stevermer of Blaine, Rita and husband David Craft of Key Biscayne, Fla., Earle and wife Pat Stevermer of Sleepy Eye, Mary and husband Eugene Beckmann of Green Bay, Wis., Kaydra Lee of Algoma, Wis., and Lynnette and husband Paul Lair of Emmons; daughter-in-law: Delores Stevermer of Faribault; brother: Clement &8220;Bud&8221; and wife Cecilia Stevermer of Easton; sister-in-law: Marietta Stevermer of Easton; brother-in-law: Harold Rollenhagen of Wells, sister-in-law: Mildred Pofahl of Wells; 27 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Lucilla in 1981; sons Glenn in 1993 and Merle in infancy; brothers Edward and wife Elizabeth, William and wife Lucille, Leo and wife Ellen and Ernest; Sister Martha and husband Ernest Schmitt; brother-in-law: Harold and Gladys Pofahl; and sister-in-law: Beulah Rollenhagen.
