The funeral service for Laetetia &8220;Tish&8221; Buley will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, at Bonnerup Funeral Chapel, Albert Lea. The Rev. Clayton Balsley will officiate. Burial will be in Hollandale Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the chapel.
Laetetia L. Buley passed away peacefully early Sunday, June 25, 2006, at her home at Oak Park Place in Albert Lea.
She was born Aug. 29, 1907, to Henry and Lettie (English) Leighty in Glenville, Minn.
After attending schools in Glenville, she graduated from Wessington Springs College in Wessington Springs, S.D. Upon graduation she taught rural school in the Glenville area.
Laetetia was married to Byron I. Buley at her parents’ home on July 10, 1928. Tish and Bye lived in Glenville until 1932 when they moved to Hollandale where they managed the Produce State Bank. She moved to Albert Lea in the early 1980’s.
She attended the Hollandale Congregation Church and the First Baptist Church in Albert Lea, and she was also a member of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron, in August of 1969; her parents; brothers, William, Carl and Wedge Leighty; sisters: Ida Essel, Nina Hauglum, Viva Matyas and Jane Kunkel.
She is survived by sons: Byron L. and his wife, Elaine (Knutson) of Redwood Falls, their children: Mark Buley, Jan Greening, Carol Nelson and Lynn Schewe; John and his wife, Sharon (Bosacker) of Hollandale, and their children: Jean Hanson, Paul Buley and Stacy Owens; and Donald and his wife, Jan (Rundle) of Albert Lea, and their children: Matthew Buley, Melissa Ausen and Makala Buley. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren and special nieces, Ann Studier Jorgenson, Mary Jane McKey and Betty Mitchel.
Tish enjoyed knitting, reading, cooking and summers at Lake Winnie.
