LeRoy Arthur &8220;Art&8221; Fann, age 88, of Austin, died Wednesday, June 7, 2006, at his home.
He was born June 7, 1918, in Valentine, Neb., before moving to London, Minn. He moved to California to work and while there he was married to Serene Moen on April 2, 1940. They returned to the Austin area where Art farmed and worked for the Hormel Company for 25 years. His first love was carpentry. In his later years he and Myrtle loved &8220;old-time&8221; dancing and making woven rugs at the Senior Center in Austin. He was a member of Trondhjem Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife Serene in 1995.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 11, 2006, at 3 p.m. at Trondhjem Lutheran Church with the Rev. John Malm officiating. Private interment will be held at the Trondhjem Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary on Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m.
Organist will be Sharon Malm. Soloist will be Kiven Lukes.
LeRoy is survived by his very special friend and companion, Myrtle Anderson of Austin, daughters-and-sons-in-law, Lois and Larry Mikkelson of Austin, Sandra and Bernie Osborne of Grantsburg, Wis., grandchildren, Barb White of Austin, Sue and Joe Meineke of Austin, Mike and Missy Plotts of Bemidji, Larry Mikkelson of Austin, LaRinda Mikkelson of Austin, great-grandchildren, Katie, Jessie, Nathan, Summer and Jordan White, David, April, Lakin, Jared, Leah and Tanner Meineke, Serene and BreAnn Plotts, Brandon Mikkelson, LaShaya Barclay, sister-in-law, Ruth Nelson of Albert Lea, nieces and nephews.
