Rita L. Pappas, age 58, of Maplewood and formerly of Eden Prairie and Albert Lea, died peacefully at home on June 27, 2006.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Helen Schoenrock.

She is survived by children, Troy (Kari), H. Alexis (Doug) Friend, Tate Hanson, Angela and Stephanie; four grandchildren, Ashton and Jordan Friend and John and Jacob Pappas; sister, Janet (Joe) Marek; brother, Dennis (Sara) Schoenrock; nieces, nephews, her extended family and friends.

Her first love was her children. She will be remembered for her devotion, love and strength. She enjoyed making memories at her cabin with family and friends. Rita’s dedication and caring made her a success in real estate and the boards she led and served on.

The memorial service will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, with visitation at 5 p.m. at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 13600 Technology Dr., Eden Prairie (952-937-2776). A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Concordia Bear Lake Lutheran Cemetery, 15554 690th Ave., Albert Lea.
