ST. PETER &045;&160;The Albert Lea Tigers concluded a strong 2006 season at the individual section finals Wednesday. The Tigers did not advance anyone out of the first round, but the campaign was still a memorable one for Albert Lea.
&8220;It was a great season and a great bunch of guys,&8221; said Albert Lea head coach Tom Dyrdal.
Philippe Perrin concluded his season at No.1 singles with a 1-6, 0-6 loss in the opening round.
Perrin, an exchange student, burst onto the scene for Albert Lea and amassed an 11-10 record overall.
Greg Peterson lost his final match 6-0, 6-0 and finished with an 11-13 mark. Peterson finished his senior season playing his best tennis at the end.
&8220;That was a great season for a No. 2 player and Greg played very well,&8221; said Dyrdal.
Corey Dieser and Andrew Dyrdal lost their match 3-6, 5-7 but the No. 1 doubles team had a set point in the second set they were unable to convert.
The duo finished the season with a 16-7 mark which ranks as one of the best for the Tigers in many years.
Josh Vu and Josh Svendsen were the final Albert Lea team to compete. They fell 3-6, 2-6 to finish the season 14-11 overall.
Although the Tigers were unable to advance anyone on it was the first time Albert Lea brought two singles and two doubles teams to the section final in numerous years.
