NORTHFIELD &045;&160;The Albert Lea girls’ track team took part in the first of two days of section competiton at Carleton College in Northfield Thursday.

The Tigers had two solid performances in the finals of the discus where Kendra Olchefske placed fifth while Anna Sigurdson claimed fourth place in the high jump.

Liz Wur was the lone Tiger individual to advance out of prelims as she will run in the finals of the 400 Saturday.

Albert Lea will also run all of its relays as well as the 1,600, the triple jump and the shot put Saturday looking to punch its ticket to state.
