ROCHESTER &045; After failing to produce much offense in its 4-1 opening game loss the Albert Lea Legion team took the nightcap with the Rochester Patriots, 6-3.
Post 56 scored three runs in both the first and fifth innings led by Nick Bunz’s three-run home run in the first inning.
Rochester would get one run in the fourth but Bunz and Ben Berhow drove in runs in the fourth for Albert Lea and Josh Jordahl stole home to complete the scoring.
The Patriots scored twice in the seventh but that is as close as they would get.
The opening game started out well for Post 56 as Arik Matson cranked a leadoff home run, but the offense would generate just two more hits after that.
Rochester took advantage of an Albert Lea error and a couple of base hits to score three runs in the fourth inning before putting up one more run in the seventh frame.
Post 56 is back in action tonight when it takes to the road to face Stewartville.
