Funeral services for Doris Anna Jacobson, of Albert Lea, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at The Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel in Albert Lea. The Rev. Curtis Zieske will officiate. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 4 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Albert Lea.

Doris passed away Saturday afternoon, July 15, 2006, at her home in Albert Lea.

Doris was born March 5, 1924, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Ora (Gekler) May. She attended public school in Iowa and at the age of 10 moved to Austin, most recently living at the home of her daughter in Albert Lea.

Doris was united in marriage to Carrold Jacobson on Jan. 19, 1942, in Austin. Doris was a homemaker and enjoyed playing cards, darts and marble games. She also loved to spend time with her grandchildren, listening to the music in the park, fishing and going on family vacations.

Doris is survived by her children, Arnold and his wife Marsha Jacobson of Albert Lea and Carol and her husband Layne Davis of Albert Lea. There are four grandchildren: Lynn (Stacie) Jacobson, LeAnn (special friend Fabian Talamantes) Jacobson, Brian (Susan) Larson and Michelle (Josh) Stenseth; five stepgrandchildren: Laura and Jennifer Lund and Kris, Kyle and Kayla Davis; 15 great-grandchildren; and one brother in law; Maynard Jacobson of Albert Lea.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carrold and Sisters June Sprandle and Erma Orth.
