Edward Lenort, 84, Wells

Edward B. Lenort, age 84, of Wells, Minn., died Saturday, July 22, 2006, at Albert Lea Medical Center in Albert Lea.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells, with visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells and one hour before the service on Wednesday at the church. The Rev. Eugene Stenzel will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Wells with military honors by the Wells Color Guard.

Edward B. Lenort was born on March 21, 1922, in Wells, Minn., the son of J. Julius and Gertrude (Utzka) Lenort. He married Bernice Boeck on Jan. 31, 1956, in Wells. They retired from farming in 1998 and moved into Wells.

He was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Army and Maritime Service. He was a member of the St. Casimir Catholic Church, the Wells American Legion and V.F.W. Posts.

Edward is survived by his wife Bernice of Wells, two brothers: Thomas (wife Georgene) of Clarks Grove, Minn. and Jim (wife Jeannette) Lenort of Walters, Minn.; two sisters: Bernadette (husband Bob) Feist of Madison, Minn. and Rose (husband Jerry) Jorgenson of Hopkins, Minn. Numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Margaret Staloch and Katy Klocek; and three brothers: Mark, George, and Robert Lenort.
