Funeral services for Marie Elsie Heine will be

Monday in Rochester and rural Albert Lea. The first service will be at Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Norman Wahl officiating.

Later, a service will be at the Concordia Lutheran Church of Pickerel Lake near Albert Lea at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Wendy Anderson officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery near Albert Lea.

Mrs. Heine, 91, of Rochester, died as she lived &045;&160;peacefully, on Thursday July 27, 2006 at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Rochester.

Marie Elise Sprenger was born August 1, 1914 in Albert Lea, the daughter of Charles and Alvina (nee Wittmer) Sprenger.

Raised in Conger, she was a graduate of Albert Lea High School.

She was a lifelong Conger resident, moving to Rochester at the age of 83 in 1997.

She worked at the State Bank of Conger, and then for many years worked as a bookkeeper at the creamery in Conger.

An active member of Concordia Lutheran Church of Pickerel Lake, she married Ernst Heine there on January 26, 1947.

She became a member of Bethel Lutheran Church upon her move to Rochester and enjoyed her Tuesday mornings with The Quilters there.

She loved remembering family and friends with greeting cards.

A volunteer at nursing homes, other interests included gardening, crocheting, Twins baseball, and word puzzles.

She is survived by her daughters, Ruth Heine of Galesville, Wis., and Alice (Mrs. John) Ryba of Rochester, Minn.; two granddaughters, Ann and Emily Ryba, both of Rochester; a sister, Elizabeth Dale, of Rochester, Minn.; a sister-in-law, Paula Sprenger, of Conger, Minn.; and many special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Alfred and Donald Sprenger; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Sprenger; and a brother-in-law, Clifford Dale.

Friends may call Sunday at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 55th Street and 18th Ave. NW, in Rochester, and one hour prior to the services at the respective churches on Monday.
