Marjorie Albright, 85, Pelican Rapids

Marjorie Albright, age 85, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minn., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at the Pelican Valley Nursing Home in Pelican Rapids.
Marjorie G. Albright was born Aug. 31, 1920, in Pelican Rapids, the daughter of William and Esther (Hanson) Albright Sr. Marge was confirmed in 1934 at Ringsaker Lutheran Church. In 1939 she graduated from Pelican Rapids High School. She attended Moorhead State Teachers College and later received her Master’s degree from St. Cloud State University. Marge taught several years in many rural schools, then in Moorhead, and later in Albert Lea, which she called home for many years. After Marge’s retirement in 1997 she moved to Pelican Rapids and in 1998 entered Pelican Valley Nursing Home.
She attended First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea, and later Trinity Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids. She was a member of the Wa-tan-ye Service Club and a travel club. Her hobbies included crafts, travel, golf, fishing and bowling. She was also a big Vikings football fan.
Marge is survived by her brother: Bill and his wife, Georgie Ann Albright Jr. of Pelican Rapids; two nieces: Kathryn Albright of Fullerton, Calif., and Jeri and her husband, Mike Kennelly of Moorhead; two nephews: Donovan and his wife, Rosemary Albright of Ukiah, Calif., and Paul and his wife, Loree Albright of Akeley, Minn.; four great-nieces: Shamayne, Heidi, Annie and Ellen; several step-great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-niece: Madilyn; also many friends in Albert Lea, especially Mabel Nelson and Amanda and Anthony Thompson; as well as many friends and relatives.
Preceding her in death were her parents; nephew: Wesley; and great-nephew: Jonah.
A service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 29, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids, with Lay Pastor Al Grothe officiating. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery, Pelican Rapids, Minn.
Larson Funeral Home, Pelican Rapids, was in charge of arrangements.
