NEW RICHLAND &045;&160;New Richland Post 75 scored a 5-2 victory over Byron at home Thursday night.

New Richland plated one run in the third inning and four more in the fourth including a two-run single by Brian Warnke.

Tory Somage was on the mound for the home team. He held Byron in check until the seventh inning when it scored two runs. Somage pitched 6 1/3 innings for the victory and was relieved by Joe McGuire for the final two outs.

Also contributing offensively were Alex Moen who was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and Ben Burshem who was 2-for-3 with an RBI.

New Richland finished league play with a 7-5 record.

Sub-district play begins Monday, July 17 at the high seed team’s field.
