Ranae Hart, 41, of Brainerd

Ranae Hart, age 41, passed away July 6, 2006, at the University of Minnesota Medical Center. In 2003 she suffered a stroke while undergoing heart surgery, which took away her speech and mobility.

She was born in Brainerd, Minn. April 30, 1965 to Virginia and Ken Wasnie. Ranae graduated from Brainerd High School and Community College. While there, she was named Miss Baxter. After college she worked with students for the Brainerd school district.

On Dec. 9, 1989, she married Rick Hart. They made their home in Brainerd. She leaves to mourn her Rick, her husband of 15 years; son Justin; daughter Michaela; granddaughter Lexie; her mother Virginia Wasnie; sister Sheila (Gene) Havercamp; sister Angie (Bruce) Kruchten; mother-in-law and father-in-law Beverly and Richard Hart of Albert Lea; sisters-in-law Janet (Russell) Deane, Julie (John) Beckmann and Connie (Bob) Rupp of the Albert Lea area.

Ranae was a gifted artist in clay, wood and textiles. Her family and faith were very important to her.

Preceding her in death due to the same hereditary heart problems were her father Ken, brothers John and Mike and aunt Sue Huff.

Visitation is pending. Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church in Brainerd.

Ranae was a kindred spirit to many, and will be missed by all who knew her.
