Zelpha Eager, 92, Albert Lea

The Memorial Service for Zelpha Rita Eager of Good Samaritan Center, Albert Lea, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, at the Good Samaritan Chapel. The Rev. Kent Otterman and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate.

Private interment will be in Geneva Cemetery.

Zelpha died on Friday, June 30, 2006, at the Good Samaritan Center. She was 92.

Zelpha’s ancestors immigrated from Spain to California in the 1700s. The city of San Francisco was named after her maternal ancestor Franciso Bernal.

Zelpha was born on July 6, 1913, in Pleasanton, Calif., the daughter of Guerremo Tutimo and Zelpha Soyla (Bernal) Messa.

Zelpha lived in California until nine years ago when she moved to the area to be near her daughter and family.

She will be greatly missed by daughter Jinnette and her husband Steve

Nielsen of Geneva, three granddaughters: Lynda Norland and husband Kevin of Owatonna and their children Jared and Mariah, Leah Ransom of Fort Bragg, N.C., and her children Amanda, Barry Jr., Marissa, and Erica, Leanna Peterson and husband Jerad of Geneva and their children Nikita and Natasha, and several cousins in California.
