David Jacobsen, 59, Alden

Funeral services for David L. Jacobsen, age 59, of Alden will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, at St. Paul&8217;s Lutheran Church in Meriden. The Rev. Gary Rusinko will officiate. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services at the church.

David died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006, at Albert Lea Medical Center.

David LeRoy Jacobsen was born March 25, 1947, to Jesse G. and Evangeline J. (Schumaker) Jacobsen in Albert Lea. He grew up in Albert Lea and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1965. David married Donna Mae Egeness on June 11, 1966, at the St. Paul&8217;s Lutheran Church in Meriden. The couple lived in Waseca for 20 years and then in Illinois, Tennessee, and New Hampshire before moving to Alden three years ago.

David was a route manager for Schwann&8217;s and a member of the Eagles. He enjoyed metal detecting, eBaying, coin collecting and playing cards. David was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother.

Survivors include his wife, Donna of Alden; children: Michelle and Danny Wilhite of Alden, Benjamin Jacobsen of Somersworth, N.H., Lucas and Nicole Jacobsen of Lawrence, Kan., Alexander Jacobsen of Alden, Theodore Jacobsen of Albert Lea, and Matthew and Guyla Jacobsen of Vandalia, Ill.; grandchildren: Brittney and Nicolle Wilhite of Alden, Codie and Gabriel Jacobsen and Zach Pitman of Somersworth, N.H., Carl and Calvin Jacobsen of Lawrence, Kan., and Howard Jacobsen of Vandalia, Ill.; mother, Evangeline Jacobsen of Alden; brothers and sisters: Duaine Jacobsen of Albert Lea, DeAnna and Bill Eckart of East Bethel, Minn., Dennis and Sue Jacobsen of Alden, Debbie Jacobsen and fianc/, Bryan Wittmer of Alden; sister-in-law, Stephanie Larson of Hayward; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David and Joanne Egeness of Waseca and Diane and Arleigh Baker of Longwood, Fla.; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

David was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Jacobsen; brother, Darrel Jacobsen, nephew, Jimmy Eckart; and father and mother-in-law, Howard and Leona Egeness.
