Boiled in mama’s large pot Š swabbed in butter Š&160;lightly salted.

The butter and salt smears across our lips as our teeth gnaw into the juicy kernels. The chomp rings familiar in our ears, as it has since we had baby teeth. We chew it with our molars, and this corny combination squirts onto our tastebuds, pleasing the front of the tongue with sweetness and the back with saltiness before we swallow.

The remains cling between our incisors, saved for an after-dessert dessert.

Mmmmm.

On the way home from work today, give that kid beside the pickup truck a few bucks. You get so much more in return.
