Eileen Gosmann, 65

The funeral service for Eileen Lou Gosmann will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, at St. Theodore Catholic Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. Tim Hall and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Burial will be in St. Theodore Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour before the service at the church.

Eileen passed away on Sunday, Aug. 20, 2006, at Albert Lea Medical Center following a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was 65 years old.

Eileen was born in Chicago, Ill., on June 21, 1941, the daughter of George M. and Eleanore (Picha) Chapko. She grew up in Chicago, Ill., and at the age of 13 moved to Downers Grove, Ill. where she was a 1959 graduate of Downers Grove North High School.

On Jan. 9, 1975, Eileen was united in marriage with Carl E. Gosmann in Dowers Grove, Ill. They moved to Westmont, Ill., where they lived until moving to Albert Lea in 1990. Eileen was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church and the Elks.

Eileen enjoyed watching the boats on Fountain Lake, flower gardening and shopping. Her family was very special to her and her most precious times were spent playing and reading with her grandchildren.

Eileen in survived by her husband, Carl of Albert Lea; three daughters: Cheryl Schlehman of Springfield, Ill., Julie Gosmann-Mead of Mankato and Caeleste (Donovan) Rindahl of Faribault; one step-daughter, Tina (Joe) Gladwell of Michigan; six grandchildren: Kayla and Kyle Gosmann, Karinna and Kyra Gosmann-Mead, Jackie and Lauren Rindahl; one brother, George (Marge) Chapko of Eau Claire, Wis.; one sister-in-law, Patricia Harris of Virginia; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert Chapko.

Eileen will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Blessed be her memory.
