Eva Hareid, 89, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Eva J. Hareid, age 89, of Albert Lea, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. John Holt will officiate. Interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. today, Tuesday, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services at the church.

Eva died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006, at St. John&8217;s Lutheran Home.

Eva Jeanette Hareid was born Aug. 3, 1917, to Corbet O. and Sarah (Bye) Adams in Brookfield Township, Worth County, Iowa. She grew up in Worth County and graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1937. On June 27, 1941, Eva was united in marriage to Louis T. Hareid at the Church of St. Theodore. She farmed with her husband south of Albert Lea, where she lived for 60 years. Eva was a member of the First Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, reading, and playing games. Eva enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children: Gary (Sandy) Hareid of Emmons, Sandra (Larry) Johnson of Albert Lea, Karen Hareid of Brooklyn Park, and Leann (Jerry) Bibus of Albert Lea; grandchildren: Beth (Kelly) Deeds of Kansas City, Mo., Scott (Rhonda) Hareid of Farmington, Amy (Chris) Hull of Blue Earth, Anne Johnson of Woodbury, Nate (Ann) Bibus of Cottage Grove, and Troy (Angie) Bibus of Glenville; great-grandchildren: Allysa, Hailey, Jacob, Marisa, Parker, Isaac, Tyler, and Cooper; brothers, James (Norma) Adams of Lake Mills and Donald (Lavonne) Adams, also of Lake Mills; sister, Blanche (Howard) Hareid of Brooklyn Park; and many nieces and nephews.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis; grandson, Zachary Hull; sisters, Cora Rice and Carma Adams; brothers-in-law: Elwood Rice, Jerome Hareid, Clifford Hareid, Bill Meyer, and Leonard Glasser; and sisters-in-law, Violet Hareid, Dorothy Glasser, Catherine Meyer, and Mavis Adams.
