Funeral services for Jerome R. Hauge, age 77, of Glenville will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 21, at the First Lutheran Church in Glenville.

The Rev. Mark Wendland will officiate.

Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Freeborn County Servicemen’s Organizations. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services at the Church. To sign the guest book, goto www.bayviewfuneral.com

Jerome died Tuesday, August 15, 2006, at his home in Glenville surrounded by his family.

Jerome Richard Hauge was born May 6, 1929, to Julius and Ruby (Peterson) Hauge in Northwood, Iowa.

On February 20, 1961, he was united in marriage to Evelyn V. Julson at the First Lutheran Church in Glenville.

Jerome was a member of the United States Armed Forces and very proud to be a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #264 and the VFW Post #247.

He was a member of the First Lutheran Church and had been employed at Wilson’s Farmstead, retiring after 38 years. Jerome held many offices in the Legion, collected dues, and marched in many parades with the Color Guard.

He helped deliver jam at Christmas time for the bank and enjoyed watching &8220;Wheel Of Fortune&8221; and the Minnesota Twins.

Jerome’s special times included going to the Legion to sign the book and have a coke, visiting his brother, Laverne and special neighbor, Carroll Hanson to have coffee and donuts at 4 p.m. almost every day, going to Sue’s Corner Post in Northwood for lunch, and going to Hardee’s for breakfast with family and friends.

He loved gardening, playing cards, and making things out of wood.

Jerome especially enjoyed spending time with his grandson, Keith and mostly missed his grandson, Ron and his kids in the neighborhood.

Survivors include his son, Larry and wife, Pat Hauge and grandson, Dawson Van Ryswyk of Glenville; daughters, Diane Grabau and special friend, Larry Hamberg and her son, Keith Grabau and his special friend, Patty, all of Albert Lea and Sue and her husband, Jay Waalkens of Glenville and their children, Jon and Heather Waalkens; Kathy Yunker, who was like a daughter and her husband, Jeff and their children: Shayna, Joshua, and Brooke of Rose Creek; brothers and sisters: Crystal and Palmer Peterson of Twin Lakes, Arlene Knaack of Glenville, Mavis and Elton Beighley of Gordonsville, and Duane and Sharon Hauge, Laverne and Darlene Hauge, Mary Ann and Marvin Thompson, all of Glenville; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Erland Julson of Stewartville, Leota Julson of Rochester, Roger, Kenny, and Milo Julson of Grand Meadow, Linda Julson of Rochester, Lyle and Robbie Julson of Grand Meadow, and Hazel Julson of Austin; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Jerome was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn; son, Richard Hauge; parents and mother and father-in-law, grandson, Ron Grabau; infant brother, Dayton; sister-in-law, Doris Julson, brothers-in-law, Richard Knaack and Roland Julson; and cousin, Truman Hauge.
