Lois Stiehl, 81, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Lois A. Stiehl, of Albert Lea, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2006, at the Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel. The Rev. Wayne Halvorson will officiate. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 5 until 8 at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery.

Mrs. Stiehl died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2006, at her home in Albert Lea. She was 81 years of age.

Lois was born March 12, 1925, in Wells, the daughter of Peter and Otilda (Elmer) Johannsen. She attended the Barlow School in Albert Lea. On Aug. 22, 1947, she was united in marriage to Marvin C. Stiehl at the Central Freeborn Lutheran Church.

Lois was a resident of Freeborn County all of her life, and moved to Albert Lea in 1968. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and had been baptized and confirmed at the Central Freeborn Lutheran Church.

Lois had been employed by the Munnsingwear Co. in Albert Lea, Stampers Inc. in Wells, and retired from Fleetguard in Lake Mills, Iowa.

Lois was an avid card player, loved cooking and baking, enjoyed listening to old time music, going on car rides and visiting with family and friends. She had a great sense of humor and was a very caring person.

Lois is survived by her children Gloria Stiehl of St. Paul, Dale Stiehl of Albert Lea, Roland and his wife Mary Stiehl of Massachusetts. There are three grandchildren: Jeffery Stiehl, Albert Lea, James (Patty) Mills Stiehl, Northwood, Iowa, and Toni (Perry) Carlson, Anderson, South Carolina. Also surviving are three sisters; Florence Sigurdson of Albert Lea, Lavonne (Burt) Lande of Lake Park, Minn., Shirley (Dave) Folven of Colorado, many nieces and nephews.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband Marvin, grandson Ronald Stiehl, Brothers Clifford (Wilma) and Orville (Aretta) and one sister Ruby Rehdantz.

She will be sadly missed by her loving family and many friends.
