Robert W. Escen died on Sunday, July 30, 2006, at his home in Fargo, N.D. Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 4, in Fargo. Interment was Aug. 5 at Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield, Minn.

Bob was born Jan. 20, 1941, in Litchfield, Minn., the son of C. Adolph and Lucille Escen. He graduated from Litchfield High School and Brown Institute in Minneapolis. He worked for radio stations in St. Cloud, Escanaba, Mich., KATE in Albert Lea, and for KFGO in Fargo and for CBS, where he was involved in National Farm Sales.

On Feb. 20, 1966, he married the love of his life, Jonalyne Petersen, in Albert Lea. Jonnie died on March 3, 1998.

Bob was an avid fisherman and hunter and was an active member of the Valley Vintage Car Club for many years. He loved trucks, especially his 1945 Stakebed truck. He and Jonnie loved going to their Summer home at Big Cormorant Lake. Bob loved to tell stories and to visit with all people. His laugh was very contagious.

Bob is survived by his mother, Lucille Escen, Litchfield, Minn.; sister, Sylvia (Philip) Holtz, Cottage Grove, Minn.; brother, Paul Escen, New Brighton, Minn.; sister-in-law, Veronica Escen, Litchfield, Minn., nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Robert) Blomberg and their son Benjamin; Jonathan (Jamie) Holtz and their daughter Emmi; Jeffery Holtz; and Mark (Amanda) Escen; sisters-in-law, Alice Petersen, Albert Lea, Ardis (Doug) Kennedy, Mason City, Iowa; and brother-in-law, Daryl (Sandy) Williamson, Pine City, Minn.; nieces and nephews, Eric (Becki) Kennedy, Erin (Adam) Shaw, Ethan (Anisa) Kennedy, Rodney (Rhonda) Williamson, Julie (Tim) Ingvaldson, Kathy (Jeff) Yunker and their families and special friend Larry Pence.

He was preceded in death by his father, wife, brother, Richard and infant sister, Mary Lou.
