Bulldogs still perfect on season after win over N-P

Lake Mills moved to 3-0 on the season with a dominating gridiron win over Nashua-Plainfield, 32-6, Friday night.

The Bulldogs got scoring from several phases of the game with the first coming on a 6-yard TD run from Steve Hengesteg in the first quarter.

That was followed up with a 15-year touchdown reception by Mitch Storby from Brent Bjelland, and the final Lake Mills score before halftime came on a Hengesteg 55-yard punt return.

The visitors were able to take N-P&8217;s crowd out of the game early on as they outgained them 296 to 190 in total offense.

Lars Christianson led the Bulldog defense, which gave up just 48 yards rushing, with 11 tackles and a sack. The LM defense forced four turnovers in the game.

Jordan Krull would increase the Bulldogs&8217; lead to 25-0 with a 21-yard touchdown catch in the third from Bjelland.

N-P would finally get on the bard with a 22-yard end zone strike in the fourth, but Christianson answered with a 4-yard dive for a score to cap the game.

Hengesteg finished the game with 145 all-purpose yards and the two touchdowns while Peter Brekken had 91 yards on three carries. Bjelland was efficient through the air going 5 of 9 for 57 yards and the two touchdowns.

The Bulldogs host North Iowa this Friday.
