Hendrickson seals Albert Lea victory over Winona, 4-3

With one of the team&8217;s regulars out of the lineup, Albert Lea head coach Sean Gillam shook things up and left Winona with a 4-3 Big Nine Conference win.

With the score tied at 3-3, Hali Hendrickson cemented the victory with a 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 victory at No. 3 singles.

Hendrickson which allowed us to go to Winona and get the win playing both indoors and outside trying to dodge the rain.&8221;

Dezeray Jacobs was a convincing winner at No. 1 for the Tigers 6-3, 6-2 while Niki Hendrickson lost a tough first set at No. 2 6-7 (2-7) before dropping the match 3-6.

Kelli Hanson would earn another Albert Lea win at No. 3 downing her opponent 6-2, 6-4.

Albert Lea&8217;s top doubles team of Cara Thorn and Liz Thompson made quick work of their Winhawk opponents 6-2, 6-3.

Chelsea Hill and Naomi Holt lost at No. 2 3-6, 4-6 and Danielle Merfeld and Alarie Maras fell at No. 3 3-6, 2-6.

&8220;Even though they lost, Chelsea and Naomi played their best match of the season and I think helped inspire the team,&8221; Gillam said.

The Tigers are 6-5 on the season and 3-3 in the Big Nine.
