Larry Loken, 58, Northwood

Larry G. Loken, age 58, of 4788 Juniper Ave., Northwood, Iowa, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2006, at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit of North Iowa in Mason City.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at First Lutheran

Church in Northwood with the Rev. Thomas Martin officiating. Burial will be in the North Round Prairie Cemetery in Glenville, Minn.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. at Conner Colonial Chapel 1008 1st Ave. S. Northwood.

Larry G. Loken was born on Feb. 5, 1948, to Melvin and Alma (Stiehl) Loken in Albert Lea. He attended Northwood schools and graduated from Northwood-Kensett

High School in 1966. He then attended NIACC and graduated from Mankato State University with a bachelor of arts degree in 1970. Larry farmed in the Northwood area all of his life.

He was united in marriage to Becky Amundson on Aug. 28, 1999, in Northwood. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, and their trips to Mexico. Larry loved cars, farm equipment, and his hunting dogs.

Larry was a member of First Lutheran Church of Northwood and the Farm Bureau.

Surviving Larry are his wife Becky of Northwood; three sons, Jonah (Tena) Tasker and children, Tyler and Ethian of Albert Lea, Scott (Valerie) Engstler and children, Harmony and Bobby of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Russ (Sarah) Engstler and children Emma and Marcus of Durant, Iowa; brother Ronald (Linda) Loken of Northwood; sister Marlene (Dub Graversen) Peterson of Mason City; and mother-in-law Mrs. James (Pearl) Amundson of Albert Lea. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews: Lori Peterson, Brenda (Joe) Neville, Rod (Sue) Loken, Ann (Craig Tallberg) Peterson, Robin (Jay) Hopperstad, Tracy (Wayne) Kettwick; seven great-nieces and nephews; and lifelong best friend Michael Ingersoll.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Alma Loken; stepfather Shirley Booen; and his father-in-law James Amundson.
