Madeline Dahl, 89, Albert Lea

Memorial services for Madeline B. Dahl, age 89, of Albert Lea, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 11, at the Church of St. Theodore. The Rev. Jim Berning and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Interment will be in St. Theodore&8217;s Cemetery. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the services at the Church.

Madeline died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006, at her home.

Madeline Bernice Dahl was born Feb. 27, 1917, to Joseph and Elizabeth (Watson) Burns in Wells. She grew up in Wells and graduated from Wells High School in 1934. On March 16, 1935, Madeline was united in marriage to Ralph Dahl in Albert Lea and was a resident of Albert Lea for 65 years. She had been employed in retail sales at the J.C. Penney Co. and Herberger&8217;s. Madeline was a member of the Church of St. Theodore and enjoyed word find puzzles, listening to the Twins, and high school sports.

Survivors include her son, Ralph and his wife, Donna of Austin; grandchildren: Erin and her husband, Gordy Gunter of Austin, Molly and her husband, Robert Grosse of Maple Grove, and Patrick and his wife, Lisa Dahl of Albert Lea; great-grandchildren: Elizabeth, Woodrow, Anna Kate, and Ben; sisters-in-law, Louella Munson and Beverly Nelson; brother-in-law, Norval Dahl; and many nieces and nephews.

Madeline was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph; brothers: Ralph, Walter, and Mike; brothers-in-law: Ted Munson, Harold Dahl, and Clair Nelson; and sisters-in-law, Bernadine Burns, Ardith Dahl, Agnes Burns, and Jessie Burns.

Memorials preferred to the Church of St. Theodore, Martin De Pores House of Hospitality in San Francisco, or the donor&8217;s choice.
