Margaret Benson, 59, Glenville

The funeral service for Margaret &8220;Peggy&8221; C. Benson, of Glenville, was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at Crossroads Evangelical Free Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. Glen Stevens officiated. Visitation was one hour before the service at the church.
Peggy died at home surrounded by the love of her family on Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006. She was 59.
She was born on May 15, 1947, the daughter of Henry and Louisa (Skinner) Greethurst. She graduated from Hayfield High School.
Peggy was united in marriage to Russell Benson on Oct. 9, 1965. Shortly after marriage they made Albert Lea their home, where they lived until moving to Glenville 12 years ago.
Peggy was office manager at S.A.R. until six months ago when her health caused her to take a leave of absence.
Peggy was a grateful member of A.A. since 1985. She was a member of Crossroads Evangelical Free Church, loved her church family and was a passionate participant in prayer ministry.
Peggy held her grandchildren close and expressed her love by including them all in her daily prayers.
Peggy is survived by her husband Russ; daughter Sandy and her husband Leo Roe, son Ron Benson; grandchildren: Matt Hines, David and Robyn Roe, Tyler, Morgan, Anna and Richie Benson, Heidi, Haley and Brad Heavner, Taylor Neilson, Madison Mickelson, Emily and Maci Benson, Gabrielle Benson; sisters Betty Wesley, Gwen Hagen, brothers-in law and sisters-in-law: Randy and Jodi Benson, Roger and Bonnie Rebelein; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son Robert in 2005, parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law Richard and Irene Benson.
