Adela Gasca, 79, Stewartville

Funeral services for Adela Mary Gasca, of Stewartville, former longtime Albert Lea resident, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, at St. Theodore Catholic Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. James Berning and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. at Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in St. Theodore Cemetery.

Mrs. Gasca died Sunday morning, Oct. 8, 2006, at her home in Stewartville, Minn., she was 79 years of age.

Adela was born March 1, 1927, in Bremen, Texas, the daughter of Stanley and Mary (Tenerias) Sotelo. She attended public school in the Frost, Minn., school system. On Aug. 2, 1947, she was united in marriage to Abad V. Gasca in Albert Lea.

Adela was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church in Albert Lea. She enjoyed quilting, making rugs and raising flowers in her garden, especially roses.

Adela is survived by her husband Abad of Stewartville; children Daniel and his wife Joyce Gasca of Plymouth, Tom and his wife Kathy Gasca of Stewartville, and Patricia and her husband Wayne Schmidt of St. Paul; grandchildren Chad (Wendy) Gasca, Ryan Gasca, Christine, Jay and Jake Schmidt, Amber (David) Diderrich, Lindsay Gasca and Erik Liudahl; two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Elizabeth Gasca. Also surviving are two brothers, Onofre Sotelo and Tony Sotelo, and two sisters, Elvira Echavaria and Beatrice Tovar.

Adela was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter Arlene Marie; two brothers Otto and Lollie; three sisters Elma, Carmella and Rosie; and one great-grandson Logan Diderrich.
