The wind meant a lot for Albert Lea in its soccer match with St. Peter, unfortunately, the Tigers didn&8217;t have it in the second half and lost 4-2 to conclude the regular season.
The Tigers scored twice in the first half when they played with the wind for the first 40 minutes, but were shutout in the second half going against it.
Zack McGinnis scored the first Albert Lea goal off an assist from A.J. Kortz, while Filipe Ambriz had the second getting help from Jario Campos.
The Tigers outshot St. Peter 14-2 in the first half, but saw that margin reversed in the final stanza.
The Tigers now prepare for their opening round section game tomorrow at Hammer Field. Eighth-seeded Albert Lea will face No. 9 Waconia at 6 p.m.
&8220;If we show up with the right attitude and play our game there isn&8217;t a team we can&8217;t beat in this section including (top-seeded) Northfield,&8221; Albert Lea head coach Elia Romano said. &8220;However, if we aren&8217;t ready there isn&8217;t a team that can&8217;t beat us.&8221;
