Arlene Ciffra, 79, of Owatonna

Arlene B. (Mrs. Albert V.) Ciffra, age 79, of Owatonna, died Thursday, October 26, 2006, at her home.

Services will be at Grace Lutheran Church, Dodge Center, on Tuesday, October 31, 2006, at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Robert Lentz officiating.

Interment will be at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault.

Visitation will be at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, on Monday, October 30th from 4 to 7 p.m. and also at the church for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Arlene Bertha, the daughter of Walter and Esther (Bauer) Schlobohm, was born August 3, 1927, in Merton Township, Steele County, Minn.

On April 23, 1946, she married Albert V. Ciffra at Trinity Lutheran Church parsonage in Medford.

She worked at Andrews Nursery in Faribault and was a maid in Owatonna prior to marriage. Arlene was a homemaker and together with her husband, they farmed and operated a livestock trucking business.

Her faith and family were very important to her.

She is survived by her husband, Albert of Owatonna. Nine children, Norman (Jeanne) Ciffra of Nerstrand, Albert Ciffra of Albert Lea, Arlene (Robert) Scherger of Dodge Center, JoAnn (Bernie) Scherger of Dodge Center, Joyce Ciffra of Owatonna, Laura (Rev. Harold) Storm of Gaylord, Lois Ciffra of Owatonna, Karen (John) Cutting of Byron and Carol Ciffra of Owatonna. Fifteen grandchildren, Jeremy and Jeff Ciffra and Stephanie Stanton; Kevin Scherger, Kristin Rogers and Wendy Johnson;

Casey and Zachary Ciffra; Joshua, Michael and Heidi Storm; Jared, Jessica and Kelly Cutting; and Gail Carmody. Nine great grandchildren, Cole, Cale and Madison Ciffra; Jeffrey

Ciffra; Tate, Jack, Tadd and Emma Stanton; and Anika Rogers.

Four siblings, Duane (Diane) Schlobohm of Faribault, Lorraine (Donald) Dostal of West Concord, Valeria (Clayton) Harris of Spring Lake Park and Eleanor (Fred) Neubert of Sauk Centre. A brother-in-law, Sherman Benson of Kenyon.

Three sisters-in-law, Louise Schlobohm of Faribault, Marie Tuve of Elysian and Margaret (Elmer) Vikla of Lonsdale.

And many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Evelyn Benson; a brother, Donald Schlobohm; and a brother-in-law, Edwin Tuve.

Memorials are preferred to The Lutheran Hour or Owatonna Hospice.
