Arnold O. Faugstad, age 86, of Emmons, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006, at St. John&8217;s Lutheran Home in Albert Lea. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006, at Scarville Synod Lutheran Church in Scarville, Iowa, with the Rev. Thomas Rank officiating.

Burial will take place at Scarville Synod Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on

Tuesday, Oct. 3, at Mittelstadt Funeral Home, 902 E. Main St. in Lake Mills, and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

Arnold Olaf Faugstad was born on Sept. 19, 1920, in Winnebago County, Iowa, the son of Nels and

Aasa (Stanghelle) Faugstad. He was baptized and confirmed in the Scarville Synod Lutheran Church. He attended Scarville Lutheran Elementary School, and graduated from Bethany Lutheran High School in Mankato.

Arnie was a lifelong member of Scarville Synod Lutheran Church, and he farmed in the Scarville and Emmons areas, continuing to live there until his health began to fail. He entered the St. John&8217;s Lutheran Home in Albert Lea in early 2005.

Survivors include his sister, Signe Olson of Mankato; two brothers, Conrad Faugstad and his wife, Esther, and Norman Faugstad and his wife, Adela, all of Emmons; and many nieces and nephews.

Arnold was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Nels; sister-in-law, Camilla Faugstad; brother-in-law, Harry Olson; and a nephew, David Faugstad.
