Car and train collide Friday

Kelsey Sue Walton, 20, of Albert Lea, hit a train traveling eastbound at 2:34 a.m. Friday.

According to police reports, Walton, who was was traveling northbound on First Avenue, was cited for failure to yield at a railroad crossing and for inattentive driving.

She was checked out by responders from the Albert Lea Medical Center but was not transported to the hospital. Police said they are still finishing an investigation on the incident.

Man arrested for third-degree DUI

Police arrested John Alan Freese, 23, for third-degree DUI at 12:43 a.m. Thursday at 1030 South Broadway Ave.

His vehicle was towed and his plates were impounded, according to police.

Man arrested for fourth-degree DUI

Police arrested Bradley Clayton Woodward, 38, Thursday at 10:21 p.m. for fourth-degree DUI at the intersection of South Broadway and East Seventh St.

According to police reports, an officer observed Woodward driving over the center line several times.

When he was pulled over at the intersection of South Broadway Ave. and East Seventh St., the officer observed an open bottle in the vehicle. He was later released, police reports said.

CD player stolen from vehicle

A CD player was reported stolen from a vehicle Wednesday night at 1201 South Fourth Ave., according to police reports.
