Carole Simpson, 66

The memorial service for Carole Ann Simpson will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, at United Methodist Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. John Bromeland will officiate. Burial will be in West Virginia at a later date. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Bonnerup Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
Carole died on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006, at Good Samaritan Center, Albert Lea. She was 66 years old.
Carole was born in Ansted, W.Va. on Oct. 25, 1940, the daughter of Delbert and Bessie Agnes (Layton) Peck. She was baptized at Freewill Baptist Church in Ansted. She was a graduate of Ansted High School. She served with the United States Army from 1959 – 1961 at Ft. Mead, Md.
On April 7, 1961, she was united in marriage with Donald &8220;T.J.&8221; Simpson at the United Methodist Church, Harmon, Md. As a military family they lived in many locations until making their home in Las Vegas for 27 years and finally moving to Albert Lea in 2003. They were employees of United Methodist Church in Albert Lea.
Carole received her Early Childhood Development certificate from University of Nevada, Las Vegas and taught at a day care center for 22 years, where she was highly respected for her caring work with children.
Carole enjoyed reading, growing roses, listening to music and especially camping trips with her husband.
Carole is survived by her husband, Donald &8220;TJ&8221; Simpson of Albert Lea; three sons, David, Mark and Donald; two daughters: Carole and Carmelita; seven grandchildren: Shanice, Savannah, Tevin, Dakota, Skyler, Jordan and Brandan; one sister, Margret; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Donald in infancy and Bobby Gene.
